Hip and Knee Prosthesis

Hip and knee prosthesis are surgical interventions that provide solutions to problems such as pain, limitation of movement and loss of function, usually experienced due to joint diseases, injuries or degenerative conditions. Hip prosthesis is applied to individuals whose hip joint is damaged or worn out to provide a better quality of life. In this surgical procedure, a prosthetic joint made of durable materials such as titanium or ceramic is placed to replace the damaged joint structure. Knee prosthesis is used to correct pain, limitation and deformities in the knee joint. In knee prosthesis surgery, the functionality of the natural joint is generally attempted to be restored by adding metal and plastic components to the femur and tibia bones. These surgical interventions are generally preferred in cases of severe pain and limitation of movement resulting from serious joint damage caused by old age, joint degeneration such as osteoarthritis, traumatic injuries or diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis. Prosthesis surgery is performed to improve the individual's quality of life, make their daily activities sustainable and reduce pain. The recovery process often includes physical therapy and rehabilitation, which helps the patient adjust to his or her prosthesis and return to normal life.
